Workshop Announcement

Workshop on Power Systems Resilience during Extreme Weather
(October 9, 2022, Salt Lake City, UT)

Overview

An NSF-sponsored power system resilience cyberinfrastructure development team will hold a half-day software demo and discussion workshop on October 9, 2022, on the side of the 54th North American Power Symposium. The workshop is specifically tailored to researchers and practitioners who are interested in studying power system resilience during extreme weather events.

The workshop will facilitate discussions on the challenges in multidisciplinary data generation, integration, and visualization across large power systems, during extreme weather events. The software demo activities will consist of a case study example of the synthetic 2000-bus Texas power system performance during the 2017 Hurricane Harvey, including hurricane wind field conditions, power transmission infrastructural damage, and power outage.
